Mural Concept
Volunteer artists render the community's concept of their library's vision and community's history:
The tree reminds us of a time when life was much simpler and children could find joy in reading a book under a tree. The trees may be fewer now, but children can still discover new worlds and make new friends through reading books.
The bridge is a reminder of where the families came from. They used to live under a bridge in Novaliches. From a cramped and dark space, they are now in new homes; built by their hands and warmed by the sun.

Ang galing ko na magcatalog!
Volunteers Rona, Joy, RY, Ate Maris and volunteers of the library in Bulacan learn how to organize the books
Thank you Mon Fernandez!
Dear Mr. Mon Fernandez,
Thank you very much for your kindhearted donation to the children and families of GK Aldaba Hills. Your generous donation has gone to the construction of new shelves and tables for the small community library at the village. We've also used your donation to paint the walls, and install electric fans so that the kids can read in comfort.
Currently, we're in the process of cataloging the books and fixing up the library. Soon, we will open up the newly refurbished library for the over 100 kids who love to hang out there everyday.
We'd like to invite you to come and visit one day, bring your family and maybe share a book or two with these kids.
Thank you again and God Bless!

Be a storyteller, be a volunteer
Someone asked me if we don't get tired doing what we do and I answered, yes we get tired sometimes but when we see the kids enthusiasm and thirst for stories and we see that the volunteers were able to learn and apply what we taught them, nawawala na ang pagod. And we are glad that we are not alone in this advocacy. Meron nang mga second-timers na nagvovolunteer. Just like the group from Trend Micro. They go back because they experience what we have experienced.
Ikaw, volunteer ka na din. :)
